Colin Wilson has a wealth of experience, having started his career in catering equipment as a trainee draughtsman in Edinburgh in 1979. His career has developed and grown through the years and included a number of senior roles both with design houses and manufacturers. Although Edinburgh-born, Colin has lived in the north east for a large percentage of his working life and has a close affinity with the region.
He has become one of the most respected project managers in the industry with a reputation for detail, precision and innovative designs across several market sectors. These include hotels and restaurants, major retail environments, as well as colleges and universities.
Colin joined CNG last year from one of the largest design houses in the industry, Upnorth Foodservice Equipment (now called GastroNorth) where, amongst other roles, he was business development manager and projects manager for its contract with one of the UKs leading retailers. There he also worked on a highly regarded five-star hotel project at Rockliffe Hall, dubbed the jewel of the north east.
As senior projects manager at CNG, Colin is working closely with MD, Clive Groom, to deliver quality kitchens, bars and serveries to leading clients not only in and around the north east of England, but across the UK. Together they are also developing fresh ideas and new concepts that allow CNG to offer a broader range of services and products to their client base.
Colin, Clive and Angela Hedley (company secretary) go back a long way, having known each other for many years, and previously worked together in the 1990s.
