Greg Andrews’ colleagues believe he is an industry motivator and pioneer, whose motto should be ‘never stop challenging’.
Relatively new to the foodservice industry, Greg joined KCCJ in 2012. Coming from the construction sector, he has brought a whole new barrel of skills and knowledge that has, in the 3 years since, seen the construction division of KCCJ go from a tentative foray into fit-out works to marathon engineering projects.
On a daily basis (often 7 days a week) Greg cultivates relationships with clients who include very large stadiums, conference centres, schools and hospitals. The range of fit-out work seems to know no boundaries and has included multi-million pound building projects, constructing extensions, historic building refurbishments, new building power supplies and trenches, and heavy duty catering equipment installations — right through to some additional car park line painting works requested by a customer.
With Greg’s background and KCCJ’s technological advances with BIM, KCCJ is now being engaged on complex construction projects.
In the school summer holidays of 2014 and shortly to be repeated in 2015 Greg completed more than 20 primary school projects, which included complete rip-out, design and installation of all new mechanical and engineering services, building works, hygienic claddings, all in readiness to allow the catering equipment to follow seamlessly. An epic feat which undoubtedly deserves the title of ‘unsung hero’.
