Ian Wolfe’s 24 years of service at Gratte Brothers Catering Equipment is an achievement in itself. But not only that, through his career at the Stevenage-based distributor, he has also guided the company to the high levels of success it currently enjoys.
The family-owned firm is a subsidiary of the Gratte Brothers Group, and generates an annual turnover in excess of £14m. Ian has been instrumental in ensuring the firm is widely regarded as one of the UK’s market leaders for the design, supply, installation and maintenance of commercial catering facilities.
He has also mentored many now-well-known faces that have gone on to be successful within the catering equipment industry.
The company’s dedicated project management team is able to undertake commercial catering facility schemes ranging from the installation of a single item to complete turnkey contracts in excess of £2m. Ian has ensured that the firm’s expertise spans a broad spectrum of market sectors including hotels, restaurants, pubs, education and corporate.
One of the dealer’s most recent projects was for the Godstone, Surrey branch of the Knights Garden Centre group. This major £100,000 scheme involved the Gratte team designing, supplying and installing a commercial kitchen area for a large restaurant catering for up to 150 covers. This involved a challenging narrow access, which meant the team had to install a modular island cook suite but which cleverly gave the impression of a once piece top.
Ian has built Gratte Brothers on being able to provide the optimum solution for individual clients. To achieve this, the company works in partnership with its clients and its extensive supply chain from project conception through to completion.
