Kate started working for Vision part time in May 2013 whilst she was attending college and studying for her A-Levels. After finishing her A-Level exams she then became full time in July 2013 where she started as an office junior, undertaking a Business Management and Administration apprenticeship.

In November 2013 Kate expressed an interest in trying her hand at kitchen design when there became a vacancy in Vision’s design department and so she became a junior designer. Kate finished her apprenticeship earlier than scheduled and was awarded Apprentice of the Year by Bury College. This led to her later being featured in Greater Manchester Colleges Group promotional video ‘My Dream Job’ which encourages others to carry on learning throughout their working life.

Kate progressed to be a designer last July within Vision’s design department. Last year she also started to quote projects and process project orders. Furthermore, during that period she did the design work, quotes and ordered the equipment for the entire project at the Infamous Diner in Manchester, an independent 1950s-themed American restaurant which specialises in burgers. She has also designed, quoted and ordered the whole project at Asquith Nursery which was all completed within the very tight timeframe of 2 weeks.

Kate is keen to learn about a variety of aspects of the business and is always enthusiastic to try new things. She is also an internal auditor within the business and carries out two internal audits annually.
