Kirstin took up her first post in the family business in 2005 and has quickly become an industry advocate. She now manages many aspects of Hatherley Commercial Services – organising a busy service office and a team of engineers is never easy — and it is for this reason that she is deservedly regarded as an unsung hero despite the senior position she holds within the business.
Her responsibilities include website design and management, catering equipment sales, marketing, budget planning, quotes and estimates, recruitment, health and safety, HR, project design on CAD and many more. Kirstin carries out all the business tasks with seamless ease and precision.
Kirstin is diligent and hardworking and is dedicated to maintaining a smooth running business and providing the best possible service to the firm’s clients. The company became a member of CEDA in 2007 and meets the high standards expected by the association and this is due, to a large extent, to Kirstin’s thoroughness. Kirstin has impressed her fellow industry colleagues so much that she was recently appointed as CEDA regional vice chair (Northern region), and she strives to make a difference.
HCS has gone from strength to strength: with Kirstin’s help the firm was the runner-up in the CEDA awards customer service category 2015 for its efforts during the 6-week school summer holiday timeframe. The company was working to capacity but still managed to organise installations to 32 primary school kitchens for Nottinghamshire County Council, three of which were full refurbishments. In addition to this, HCS still had its service commitments and other local authority UIFSM upgrades (it completed 50 schools in total). All of these projects were delivered on time and operational for the start of the new term.
According to a colleague: “It is clear to see just how much hard work and effort Kirstin has put into the business. Kirstin has a world of knowledge about our industry and its markets. In addition to her working professionalism Kirstin is always willing to listen and to help others. She has a heart of gold and brilliant business brain.”
