GastroNorth’s MD, Richard Toye, alongside fellow director, Tim Whitfield, has managed the Gateshead-based dealer to substantial growth in the past 12 months. He has also overseen a huge move to a state of the art new office facility which is home to more than 100 staff within the UpNorth group.
Furthermore, Richard secured a number of new national clients as GastroNorth continues to expand. Recent projects included a £128,000 kitchen at the University of Northumbria’s Coach Lane Campus, where the dealer designed, supplied and installed a brand new back of house kitchen, preparation and storage area, theatre style pizza corner and a modern ‘street food style’ grab and go counter system.
The sheer amount of new schemes undertaken over the last year has meant that in order to keep its installation and project management standards to a premium and ensure customer satisfaction is delivered, the distributor has taken on several extra members of staff, including Jon Wall as project manager, and Robbie Campbell as project administrator.
Richard is passionate about training his team to become the best they can be and recently took huge pride in seeing Callum Kennedy, account manager, scoop the Rising Star award at this year’s CEDA Conference.
GastroNorth is also moving into the consultant market, and looking to expand the team at the same rate as the business grows. Richard has a desire to deliver unrivalled customer service to GastroNorth clients which adds positive pressure to him and the team to ensure everyone is on their toes on all projects – no matter what size, scale or sector.
