It is only one year since Simon Mallett joined Acme Facilities Group, but in that short time he has shown great leadership and has immediately made a positive difference to the company, his fellow directors say.
Prior to joining Acme, Simon spent 20 years with Electrolux Professional; rising from project manager to become regional services manager for the UK and Ireland for the company. The experience and knowledge from this career kept him grounded at a difficult time for the company last year when one of its young engineers was tragically killed during a routine kitchen repair. Since 2013, Simon has been a committee member for the Manchester branch of ISOH, a health and safety trade association, which gave him considerable expertise that helped the company in the aftermath of the tragedy.
Simon is currently working with Acme’s senior management team on the expansion of the business in terms of its geographical reach and range of services it offers customers. Throughout that growth, the customer is always first with Simon and the team he leads. It is an attitude that is embedded in everybody who works at Acme thanks to his constant mentoring and coaching, especially young people just joining the foodservice business.
Acme’s ambitions for growth were recently enhanced by the acquisition of Severn Catering Services, also known as SCS, based in Gloucester. It is a leader in its field, providing reactive breakdown service and preventative maintenance cover to a wide range of public and private sector organisations throughout mainland UK.
