There are only 24 hours in a day, but that doesn’t stop Tina Carter from keeping all of Brakes Catering Equipment’s marketing and promotional activities ticking over in the multi-faceted role that she occupies at the firm.
Although she has an additional member of staff to support her these days, colleagues and partners will know Tina as the marketing department of Brakes Catering Equipment and subsequently her knowledge of the hundreds of suppliers and products that the distributor deals with is second to none.
One of Tina’s most painstaking but vital tasks is pulling together the Brakes Catering Equipment catalogue each year — all 400 pages of it! Every piece of content, including specifications and prices, has to be collated, checked and then uploaded into a format that allows the catalogue to be printed. This year alone there were 1,600 new products added to the publication.
Additionally, Tina is responsible for co-ordinating regular customer promotions and ensuring that the material required for those is both accurate and impactful. The last 12 months have been especially busy for Tina given the launch and roll-out of the company’s new e-commerce web site. As with the printed catalogue, information from suppliers has to be sourced, collated and uploaded, while Tina has also played a major part in the look and feel of the site, liaising with the design team to ensure it is easy to navigate and provides up-to-date information with regards to equipment legislation. Just to make things even more interesting, this all had to be done while the company relocated from its existing facility to much larger premises in Leeds.
Furthermore, Tina also organises the various events and roadshows that Brakes Catering Equipment operates during the year. The most recent one, held at Villa Park in Birmingham, was attended by hundreds of customers and 50 suppliers.
